With the cancellation of the train, passengers travelling from intermediate stations, including Sonipat, will now have to look for alternative options.

Public Will Face Difficulties

According to passengers, there is already a significant crowd on trains running between Delhi and Haryana during the evening. Consequently, with the express train being cancelled for about a month, passengers will have to rely on other trains.

This train used to depart from Delhi in the evening and travelled through various stations in Haryana towards Kalka. It provided considerable convenience for working individuals, students, and daily commuters.

Reason for the Decision

There will be power and traffic blocks at Chandigarh station from 9th September to 15th October in different phases.

During this time, work related to the modernisation of the station is being carried out, including the removal of girders from the old foot overbridge and the launching of a new through-roof.

As a result, in addition to the old Delhi-Kalka Express, several other trains have also been cancelled.
